A Story of Grace – Day 9

Romans 8 v 9

“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.” ‭Romans‬ ‭8:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we give our lives to Jesus, we undergo a paradigm shift.  We are no longer subject to the laws that governed our flesh, we are now released into the fullness of all that the spiritual realm has to offer.

One of my favourite films of all time is The Matrix.  One of the reasons it is my favourite is for this very reason, it explores the idea of a false reality super-imposed onto the reality we all accept to be true.

My favourite scene from the film (and I have several) is right at the end when Neo the main character stands and faces Agent Smith.  For the first time he sees what The Matrix for what it is, it is a programme designed to distract people’s focus from what was really going on, their bodies were being used by the machines as energy generators to power the machines.

As Neo flexes his muscles, The Matrix bends, as he flies towards his enemy he is able to break the laws that have bound him and to overcome his enemy!

The Bible says we are seated together with Him in Heavenly places.  When our perspective changes we see things as they REALLY are.

To overcome our circumstances we need to realise that we are not under the circumstances we are over them and that we have the answer to every issue we will ever face! His name is Jesus.  Believe in Him and see the laws of gravity and rationale bend the knee to His authority!

Jesus is Lord! Amen
